Coastguard Rescue
The history of the painting is that Fletcher was commissioned by The US Coast Guard on Martha's Vineyard to paint a rescue probably early 1900's. It then hung in their headquarters there for some time and eventually wound up in an private estate in Mass. until last year when the estate was auctioned off and was acquired by an antique dealer in Ohio who sold it to Kathleen Tuason.
The size of the canvas only is 66" X 52". The original frame was replaced with a new one.
